Wine connoisseurs may scoff at the mere mention of rosé, but please, hear us out.

We know it's season of the sav blanc, and that chardonnay is a very distant memory of the 1990's. (We can't really remember as it was generally served at messy uni balls). But if you're anything like Girlin3184, there's only so many bottles of Oyster Bay you can quaff before it becomes a tad.....boring.

Rosé may be neither here nor there, but the light, fruity taste is something to be excited about.

Especially when your taste buds demand a change in scenery.

Myer Melbourne is undergoing a (badly required) $300 million overhaul.

At the entrance, one is greeted by shining dental white tiles and the alluring displays of various cosmetics houses - Mac, Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Lancome, Kit, Mecca.....

Yes, it's heaven really.

Whilst biding her time between job interviews, Girlin3184 decided to go window shopping. However the innocent intent quickly turned in to an $85 transaction on eyeliner.

$85 on WHAT ?!

Yes, Girlin3184 who is currently unemployed, just spent her monthly phone bill on eyeliner.

Well, it was two separate items - long lasting noir eye gel and a high quality application brush (though neither are functional without the other).

The sales assistant explained it was the brand's best seller, and that a new shipment had just arrived after weeks of being out of stock.

That was it - the hard sell was over. Delighted, Girlin3184 stutted with confidence to her next interview - looking like a supermodel. Well, almost......

Not since the 1990’s have ripped jeans ever been so cool.

At age 14, Girlin3184 remembers slicing in to a new pair of Levis, much to the horror of her screaming mother who bought them.

Fresh from Paris and Christophe Decarnin's Balmain (the inventor of fringed high-heel ankle boots) is the rock chic look revamped (again). Eighties meets nineties meets noughties, full of f-off attitude. This trend refuses to go away, and we're so excited!

Girlin3184 is tipping that you’ll see torn, faded denim jeans in every high street store very, very soon. We’re not sure about the square shoulder military jacket, but hey, that could grow on us (just like tie die did). And as for the studded gladiator heels – well, we’re forever in love.

Latex - a tight fit

Whether you hail or hate Victoria Beckham, her most recent outing at Macy's demands HBTN's attention.

Fashion bloggers and journalists alike have clamoured to break the news that latex is the new opaque (although Lara Zamiatin did mention it in Sunday Life last weekend).

But these are not tights, dear followers. Stuck to Victoria's slight frame are a pair of heel-less Antonio Berardi thigh-high latex boots. That's right, she's teetering on her toes like a ballerina.

At US$5900, we wont be maxing our credit cards any time soon - but we do hear that Supre have jumped on the bandwagon. Their PVC tights are just $25.

We also predict Vaseline sales to dramatically increase this season - how else do you expect to get them on?

Back in the late 80’s and early 90’s tennis used to be the sport for the discerning middle and upper class.

My father often ridiculed the rough and tumble VFL by continually advocating that “football was for yobbos”. In recent years I’ve come to discover the pleasure of men in (tight) white shorts and realise he had a touch of misguided elitism. In a sense however, he was correct, the tennis crowd was simply different.

With the ensuing mass commercialisation (and I’m certainly not complaining) tennis has lost some of its refined glamour.

Similarly horse racing has lost its glossy sheen, largely due to the new generation of lads and ladettes who are more interested in dressing up and getting drunk rather than actually watching the horses.

So where’s a girl to enjoy sporting prowess in style? Cue then, the 2,000 year old game of polo. Much has been done in recent years to rid the sport of it’s stuffy reputation. Today, you can enjoy a civilised champagne or two and a gourmet afternoon tea in exquisite settings whilst watching the fastest ball game in the world.

It isn’t every day you come across an inconsequential hole in the wall and decide it’s one of your New Favourite Shopping Destinations (NFSD).

But that’s exactly what happened last Friday evening.

Driving past Camberwell station in Melbourne’s leafy east, a small shop caught Girlin3184’s eye – probably because of the ‘sale’ rack outside.

In a heart beat the car was parked and she scooted through the door, and in to the bowels of a fabulous vintage haven.

The sales assistant struck a perfect balance between laid back and sales focused as Girlin3184 combed through old world dresses, shirts, skirts and jewellery.

The sweetest thing about Sugar Town is the price.

Girlin3184 scored a fitted 80’s leather skirt for just $45, and a vintage inspired string of glass pearls and beads for $12.

She could have cleaned out the entire shop – but elected to spread the love with you, dear Followers.

Dear Followers,

You're very lucky. You see, Girlin3184 was almost taken out by a garbage truck at 4:30am this morning.

She had dropped boyfriend off at the MCG in his bid for grand final tickets, when the truck in front started driving on the right hand side of the road - coming towards the crest of a hill. Although it seemed rather odd, everything happened so quickly that she assumed the driver knew what s/he was doing. Then, without warning, the truck veered back to the left hand side of the road – narrowly missing Girlin3184.

%^&#ing idiot! (We think road rage is justified in this instance, don’t you?)

So ladies, please take care. There are trash bags out there.

A It's quite funny. I say "Oh my Gosh" to anything exciting that happens. I was so excited about creating an online store that I said it all the time. The name stuck.

A Roberto Cavalli. I love clothing that makes a statement. The dresses are amazing - daring, sexy, elegant and compliment a woman's body.

This morning Girlin3184 found herself in a windy dustbowl, dressed in her very best suit and feeling very folorn.

Why? She’s still on the interview trail. Like a lone nomad, she trekked out to Melbourne’s west, which is basically the middle of industrial nowhere.

At the security entrance, Girl in 3184 was required to don a) protective eyewear b) goggles and c) a high visibility jacket. Then she was escorted across a heavy duty manufacturing plant.

Darn, why did she bother having a shower or straightening her hair?
Your lesson for the day is this dear followers - if you’re feeling fugly right now - fear not. At least you didn’t have blue collar workers gawking at your ridiculous fashion sense and dust filled glasses.
