We’re a tad confused and frustrated at HBTN. You see, everyone keeps on telling us that black is no longer black.Um, the last time we looked, black was still the same – dark, mysterious, timeless and supremely elegant. Being a resident Melbournite, Girlin3184 says the key principal of fashion is this – you cannot go wrong with black, and nothing will ever substitute it. No other colour will ever make you look so slim, so chic or so feminine.
Coco Chanel knew a thing or two about fashion. Of all trends that have risen and fallen one thing has remained – the little black dress. Invented by the Madame herself, the LBD has adorned the frames of galactically famous women: Katharine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Catherine Denevue & Princess Di.
Even the Kings themselves – Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent remain/ed true to the timeless tradition of black – Lagerfeld is renowned for his entirely black collections and Saint Laurent for the industry defining “Le Smoking” suit which made a huge comeback at Paris fashion week.
